Observations
God's plans will not be foiled by disobedience. Mordecai tells Esther that if she doesn't act, "relief for the Jews will come from elsewhere", and that her disobedience will lead to her own destruction.

Application
I need to be obedient... and to recognise when God is calling me to act and/or use my gifts, wealth or position in his cause.

Prayer
Lord God, show me how you want to use me. I recognise that all I have - my gifts, possessions, position - belong to you, and I devote them to you for your use.

Help me to use these things in your service, and not to be paralysed by fear of consequences, as Esther so nearly was.
